The »Image and Sound« exhibition focuses on the interplay of acoustic and visual information, with an emphasis on selected thematic areas. The spatial arrangement of these thematic areas, as well as the experience of their content links, lay the foundation of the architectural design.

At the center of the exhibition »Image and Sound« is the interplay of acoustic and visual information. The development of electronic and digital media enables a previously unimagined complexity of the coupling of images and sounds. The exhibition attempts to work out the common basis of this interaction by focussing on selected thematic areas. Therefor the exhibition is divided into five main themes – art, natural sciences, coding, music and digital media – as well as six intermediate connecting themes. By this exhibition the multiple overlapping of the theme Image & Sound finds a possible order, in its thematic, media and aesthetic aspects.
